Hi New riders!  Boy, do I feel like I belong here. I have a 1986 Honda Shadow. I put the photo on but I don't know where it went!! I am not as good at e-mail either! I took the safety classes last year and crashed their little 250 bike. The choke was set real high and I should have noticed. Well, long story short...two broken ribs, a broken pinkie, a mild concussion and LOTS of bruises. Oh and the bike died! They suggested I take some private lessons next time. And next time is at the end on this month. Wish me luck everyone. The one part I want to share is as I was laying on the ground all I could say was "thank God it wasn't my bike." LOL It lived a good life for 25 years, I will treat her good. Iwill say I learned to drive a big school bus and that was easier!

Send those good vibes..............Thanks,   Donna

Hi all...I'm a 49 year old female that has always had a dream to own my own Harley. I've been riding on the back since I was a child...starting with my dad, then boyfriends, husband, back to boyfriends. I've never been the driver on two wheels except for a bicycle. Anyway, now that my daughter is 20 I decided it was time to get my license and buy my own. I took the safety class which was excellent. I highly recommend it. In Florida it's mandatory to get your endorsement on your driver's license. Don't be nervous about it, they take it one step at a time. Just pay attention and you will do great. Anyway, I bought my bike in October of 2010 and just haven't gotten on it very much. I've just ridden around my neighborhood, haven't gotten out on any other roads or gone over 40mph. Anyone else apprehensive as a new rider? I've also had a problem with rolling the throttle when breaking sometimes which has me pretty freaked out. Anyone else experienced this?

Anyway...all I want right now is to get confortable enough to ride at least a couple of times a week. Right now I'm only riding once in a blue moon...I haven't been on in about 3 weeks. Planning to get out there tomorrow.

Looking sooooo forward to taking the rider's course next spring. We have two adult kids and four beautiful grand-kids. Now, it's "me" time:) Will be buying a harley in the spring.Probably will start with a sportster, but my fav is the Street Bob. I love the looks of it.

Hi, My name is Ruth, and i just turned fifty...my boys are grown and moved out...and i am Divorced. I have found my soul mate, and he is wondeful. I always loved a good ride on the back of a motorcycle, but I am thinking of taking the class and getting my own bike. that way we can ride together..., i thought that this bikers index is a real good idea, but there wasn't anything about new riders, so i thought i would start one. A friend of mine just bought her first bike and she loves it. so
i'd like for ppl to share there first ride or first class info or just share ...
