Comment by Donna Toomey on April 22, 2011 at 11:02pm Hi New riders! Boy, do I feel like I belong here. I have a 1986 Honda Shadow. I put the photo on but I don't know where it went!! I am not as good at e-mail either! I took the safety classes last year and crashed their little 250 bike. The choke was set real high and I should have noticed. Well, long story short...two broken ribs, a broken pinkie, a mild concussion and LOTS of bruises. Oh and the bike died! They suggested I take some private lessons next time. And next time is at the end on this month. Wish me luck everyone. The one part I want to share is as I was laying on the ground all I could say was "thank God it wasn't my bike." LOL It lived a good life for 25 years, I will treat her good. Iwill say I learned to drive a big school bus and that was easier!
Send those good vibes..............Thanks, Donna
Comment by Denise Damanti on April 21, 2011 at 8:33pm Hi all...I'm a 49 year old female that has always had a dream to own my own Harley. I've been riding on the back since I was a child...starting with my dad, then boyfriends, husband, back to boyfriends. I've never been the driver on two wheels except for a bicycle. Anyway, now that my daughter is 20 I decided it was time to get my license and buy my own. I took the safety class which was excellent. I highly recommend it. In Florida it's mandatory to get your endorsement on your driver's license. Don't be nervous about it, they take it one step at a time. Just pay attention and you will do great. Anyway, I bought my bike in October of 2010 and just haven't gotten on it very much. I've just ridden around my neighborhood, haven't gotten out on any other roads or gone over 40mph. Anyone else apprehensive as a new rider? I've also had a problem with rolling the throttle when breaking sometimes which has me pretty freaked out. Anyone else experienced this?
Anyway...all I want right now is to get confortable enough to ride at least a couple of times a week. Right now I'm only riding once in a blue moon...I haven't been on in about 3 weeks. Planning to get out there tomorrow.
hello iam taking my class with the riders edge put on thre harley ,,3 day coarse May 3 4 5 iam not that nervous maybe i should be,Hubby wanted to teach me but from what i been hearing its best to leave it to the instructers, dont want to learn any bad habits ,,Hubby bought me a new yamaha vstar, its waiting for me in the garage lol i guess we will be learning on smaller bikes and that makes me not so nervous, just counting down the days till then
